Where every soul has a song

In the beginning, Mother Melody was alone with her child, Afonos, in the great expanse. Together, they built sweeping worlds, glorious creatures, and Mother's greatest creation: mankind. Each child was born with a song in their heart, a sliver of Mother's power to take with them.

But Afonos grew jealous. He could not hear the music. So he created the Terroth, a bloodthirsty race hellbent on destroying mankind. Many wars were fought, but the greatest of them all—The War of Ascendance—began the day the Terroth allied with the Titans.

Mother Melody saw the danger and called forth dragons to help mankind, but it was not enough. She sacrificed her own power and gifted it to seven humans—the Fragments of Melody—so that they might stop the Titans. But Afonos saw what she had done and gifted his own power to five Terroth—the Undying.

The Seven Fragments of Melody, along with the great dragons of the west, waged war against the Terroth and the Titans. In the end, one of the Seven sacrificed themself to banish the Titans to Intarus. The others gave up their powers to imprison the Undying Five in the Realm of Discord. The last of the Seven did not. They saw that mankind was still losing against the Terroth and made one last great sacrifice to create the Seven Clouds of Elymbeii.

For five hundred years, mankind has lived in peace high above the blighted earth, above a veil of aether mist, on floating islands the size of nations.

But the Terroth are not finished.

The songs of war will return.

And mankind will fight.
